IRISH LOVE
Rolling down the hills of Ireland entwined and laughing
Landing at the bottom in the sweet green clover
Kicking up my heels dancing a reel all around you
Singing the songs we love over and over and over
Irish love…beauty everywhere…Irish love…music fills the air
Diving into the cold but lovely Irish Sea
Kissing and splashing in the frothy spray
Sunning ourselves, delighting in a picnic
Sharing secret dreams of the past and today
Irish love…tenderness counts…Irish love…fun is paramount
Stepping up to the Giant’s Causeway
My most favorite Irish natural wonder
(Besides yourself, of course, my love—
Vibrant, with a sweet strong thunder)
Irish love…cheers to your health! Irish love…more precious than wealth
Seeing your handsome face at my door
You’re telling me there’s no time for tea
I’ve an overflowing storehouse of love inside
Your Irish eyes alone hold the magical key
Irish love…would never chain…Irish love…only good to gain
St. Patrick summed up Irish love poetically:
(Although this is not from a reliable source)
“It’s joyously unrestrained, and creeps up on you—
If it was a snake it would have bit me, of course!”
Irish love…Have a Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Irish Love…Luck o’ the Irish – it’s not a cliché
