Poetry Standing Still

You have heard of Poetry in Motion?

He is poetry standing still…

…Sleeping,

…Shaving,

…Watching TV,

It does not matter –

His every move

Simply captivates me

Love Will Live On – by: Nuala Molloy Moran

Love Will Live On

Glimpses of love in sight

Hopeful promises in the night

Where eyes meet souls touch

Miracles happen, fairytales and such

All over the world some only look away

They start to love, then give up, call it a day

Romance is lacking color, faded hues

No love songs being written, only blues

Don’t let me sing the last love song

Or say loving lyrics are dead and gone

When the heart finds the right words

I know the music of love can still be heard

No sign in the world, sea or sky

Can demand love to fall away or die

We can look around; find the love is still there

Outshining the tragedy and cold despair

Love will never fade away

No matter what some people say

Love will live among our darkest days

And through the pain I imagine…

…Glimpses of love in sight

Hopeful promises in the night

Where eyes meet souls touch

Miracles happen, fairytales and such

Don’t let me sing the last love song

Or say loving lyrics are dead and gone

When the heart finds the right words

I know the music of love can still be heard…

…Don’t let me sing the last love song

This was a runner up for “Song of the Year Contest” 2009.

Later I turned this into a song with Newell Bate- Penny Danger

AURORA – by: Nuala Molloy Moran

Aurora Borealis

AURORA

She makes her entrance around midnight

Unfolding against the transparent, dark sky

Her magnetic persona loose in the solar winds

Laying down gifts she has stored from the sun

Highfalutin and bursting with lustrous color

She twirls and moves and glows

With intermittent red, violet, green

Together with her companion, dazzling in panoramic paintings

Scientist and artist collide in a sky-high optical parade

Monarch by: Nuala Molloy Moran

MONARCH

This butterfly has unraveled from an exhausted old cocoon

As we danced among the flowers I donned a sweeter tune

Let us meet again where the orange honeysuckle fragrantly bloom

And the hummingbird and tanager enjoy a nectar boon

I get lost in the huge blue sky without your precious glance

With those distinctive eyes of yours I’ll be flitting for a chance

You are the one who makes this butterfly dance

All I can see

is you

and me

and romance

My wings have unfolded before you over time

Their colors can really dazzle but it is you that makes them shine

The sun always comes out to give me a sovereign sign

I’m flying on a precept because with you it is so sublime
